Hearing Loss Support Group meetings August to December

Upstairs in Shearers Bar, St. James’ Park, Strawberry Place, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 4ST

All 2:00pm – 3:30pm

This venue is fully accessible and has lift access, we will have palantypist (text on screen) support.

Speakers and topics:

Tuesday 8 August: Speaker Anni Humes from Salvation Army, Gateshead will talk about the work they do, the services they offer and the range of people they help

Tuesday 12 September: Speaker Amy Fawdington from Northern Stage, about their performances and accessible options for Hard of hearing people

Tuesday 3 October; Speaker Andy Griffin (a former Action on Hearing Loss Specialist Volunteer, ITV subtitle assessor and current Deaflink Hearing Loss Support Group member) on “Seen.. but not Heard'. LIFE & DEAF situations”

Tuesday 14 November: Speaker is Ian McArdle, heritage volunteer with Ouseburn Trust, talking about the history of the Victoria Tunnel and how to plan a visit.

Tuesday 5 December: Communication Strategies at Christmas – hints and tips with group discussion facilitated by Louise McGlen
