Going to hospital
If you go to hospital - the Freeman or the RVI and there is no interpreter then they can use a video relay interpreter.
Point at this sign and they will get the equipment to connect you to an interpreter on a computer.
If you have to stay at the hospital on a ward, they can use this to communicate with you until they get an interpreter to come.

Contacting the hospitals
If you are at home and need to communicate with the hospital staff e.g. have they booked an interpreter for your appointment? Don’t understand a letter? What do you need to bring? What to do with tablet? Etc. You can go onto their website and click on a button and it will connect you to an interpreter – ask them to phone the hospital. If you have the internet then you will not pay for this service.
If you need lesson on how to use the computer or to connect to interpreter please contact us.
The hospitals also have equipment for people who are Hard of Hearing.
If you are going to any other hospital in the area then you must tell them you need an interpreter and they will book one.
