People who are profoundly deaf can use some equipment to help them with their daily lives. 

What equipment?

• Smoke alarms
• Flashing door bells
• Alert pager systems linked to baby monitors
• Door alert systems
• Telephone amplifiers

 

 

 

 Your local council will have a service where they can loan equipment or they can help you get the equipment you need.  Not all councils are the same but you need to ask – these are the links to the different council’s equipment website pages in the North East.
