Royal wedding invitation for teenage deaf campaigner from Derby

Donald Trump and Barack Obama missed out but a young Derby schoolboy has got an invitation to this May's royal wedding.

Reuben Litherland, 14, who was born deaf, has been invited in recognition for his hard work for the deaf community.

He teaches sign language lessons at Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy, in Darley Abbey, and campaigns for deaf-friendly cinema screenings.

The teen said he was “really excited and happy” to be invited to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
